Cherie Klotz, Director

Cherie Klotz

I have been in child care for over 18 years. I began working in child care by operating a licensed daycare out of my home for six years. I then continued working in child care as a room lead for child development centers for the military. During thistimeI received my certificate in Early Childhood Education and then pursued my Bachelors of Science in Management.

I have been married to my husband, Kent, for over 24 years and we have two wonderful
children; Zacherie (21)   and Brittany (20).

Romans 8:37 says that "we are more than conquerors through him who loves us." When we feel like life is attacking us God reminds us that he created us to be conquerors.

Kellie Warner: Lead Infant Teacher

Graduated from Beavercreek High School. Foster mom for five years, with 100+ hours of in-service training. Married to Michael Warner in 1993. Mother of two older girls, I have been a nanny, babysitter, foster parent and daycare provider.

At GLC, I have been the Lead Infant Teacher since 2009.  One of my favorite things about working at GLC is that I love helping children feel safe and loved.  I also enjoy seeing them learn and explore.

Without God's love to share, I would never have enough.  I always give my best because I work for God.  He renews my strength and His love is big enough to go around.

My favorite Bible verse is Psalm 103.

Teresa Adkins

Teresa Adkins: Toddler Teacher

I have worked with children since I was 12 years old, beginning by babysitting, nursery work and children's Bible quizzing.  Over the last 25 years, I have worked as a school teacher and drama coach for children of all different ages.  Currently, I work with K-5th graders in the after school program and teach gym, art and music to the Kindergarteners.
At GLC for more than a year, I love the creativity I get to unleash with the children.  I love the fact that God is the focus of how we approach relationships anddiscipline; andI am greatly encouraged by seeing students seeking to apply God's principles to their lives.

My encouragement comes from my favorite Bible verse from Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. Planstto prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future."

Carla Smith:  Toddler II Teacher

I am a widow with a married daughter, Sarah.  Sarah and her husband, Kevon, have a daughter, Emma Olivia.  Emma Olivia is a wonderful blessing and I love being her "Nanna!"

I have lived my entire life in Greene County (OH), except three years, during which I worked at the Creation Museum in Kentucky.  I share my home with three dogs; Butterscotch and Lickorish are Papillons and Cinnamon, a Pomeranian.  I also have Paprika the cat, Myrtle the turtle, and a fish tank.

As a member of the First Church of Christ, I taught two and three-year-olds for almost 20 years.  I was a teacher in the four and five-year-old  and art classes for 14 years in our Tuesday pre-school program.  At Ray of Son, I held positions of pre-school and pre-kindergarten teacher, lead teacher, trainer and director during the six years I was there.  I took Child Development Associate classes and completed my national requirements.  I have cared for and loved infants starting during my childhood at my mother's side in our church nursery.  4-H and the Buc-A-Roo Club gave me a great opportunity to work with and teach the youth of Greene County.

I am constantly amazed by the young minds, bodies and souls of children-they are like sponges absorbing all the information they experience.  I feel honored to help build their foundation knowledge of life and faith.

Psalms 100:1-5 is my favorite Bible passage: "Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.  Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.  Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.  Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thans to him and praise his name.  For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations."
